Chelsea linked with three top-class players ahead of the summer transfer window.
Apparently, the Blues want to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund, Leicester’s Ben Chilwell and Timo Werner of RB Leipzig.
Of those three only Chilwell is what one would consider a realistic option and even then he would cost an arm and a leg.
Let’s start with Jadon Sancho, Chelsea can afford his rumoured £100 million fee. But they will face serious competition from the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Man Utd and Bayern Munich. It is far from a shoo-in that he would choose a move to Stamford Bridge.
Timo Werner is most likely on his way to Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp is an admirer of the player and the striker only yesterday admitted he was flattered to be linked with a move to Anfield.
Chilwell is probably the easiest of the three targets for Chelsea to sign. However, there is every chance that the Foxes will demand a premium and that could put Chelsea off. No one likes to be held over a barrel.
If one was to have a bet on how many of the three will end up in West London it would be just the one. That would be Ben Chilwell. On the face of it, Chelsea does not look favourites to sign either Sancho or Werner.
