It is no secret that Arsenal is looking to sell some of their players in order to fund new acquisitions this summer and one of the players they are seeking a buyer for Mesut Ozil.
The German playmaker’s wages have been a major stumbling block for any interested party, however, the Gunners have made it known that they will consider subsidising a portion of his £350k per weekly salary and that has appeared to have done the trick with news coming in that Turkish giants Fenerbahce, Galatasaray and Besiktas have all now made contact with Arsenal about a potential deal.
It was never realistic to think that Arsenal could not offload Ozil if they really wanted to, they just had to find a way and that is exactly what they have done.
None of the Turkish trio could possibly have afforded to pay anywhere near what Ozil is earning in North London but the minute that Arsenal indicated that they were prepared to negotiate over his wages the door to a potential deal was opened.
There is still a long way to go but the signs are that a solution will be found and while Ozil would have been reluctant to move to China or an Arab state that would not be the case when it comes to Turkey.
