Tottenham looking to hijack Arsenal plans to sign Joachim Andersen

Arsenal made a bid in the region of £49 Million for the services of Sampdoria duo Dennis Praet and Joachim Andersen and despite that being rejected were still hopeful they would be able to sign at least one of them, however, their bitter North London rivals Tottenham could disrupt their plans.

Apparently, Tottenham is plotting a swoop of their own but only for defender Andersen, according to the British media.

Arsenal’s defence is in need of much surgery and manager Unai Emery was said to be keen on taking Andersen to the Emirates this summer but haggling over the price has put a spanner in the works which is allowing Tottenham to sneak in.

Spurs are concerned they may lose Belgium defender Toby Alderweireld in the event that a club triggers his £25 Million release clause and see the 23-year-old Dane as an ideal replacement for the Belgium international.

Tottenham does hold the advantage over their neighbours, they have more money to spend and can offer Champions League football and so if this does come down to some form of auction then the smart money would be on Spurs getting one over their bitter rivals.
