Tottenham and Man Utd hopes of signing La Liga superstar dashed

Tottenham and Manchester United set to miss out on signing Gareth Bale

Former Tottenham forward, Gareth Bale may never play in England again until the end of his current deal at the Bernabeu.

The Welsh star has been unsettled at the Bernabeu for the past two seasons yet he has remained there despite Zinedine Zidane’s open wish for him to leave.

Los Merengues tried to sell him last summer, but the move broke down and he has remained constantly linked with moves away from Madrid.

Tottenham and Manchester United are the major English sides looking to bring him back to England as their marquee signing.

However, Express Sport is claiming that a move back to the Premier League is very unlikely.

The report claims that the fee it would take to bring him back as well as the wages he would command, combined with his age makes him undesirable to his suitors.

However, the report adds that Manchester United could revive their interest if it became clear that he was leaving the Bernabeu and another Premier League rival was trying to sign him.

Spurs would love to have him back, but the notoriously tough Daniel Levy knows that it would take too much in terms of finances to sign the player.
