Real Madrid plans good news for Tottenham, bad news for Man Utd

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is determined to reinstate the Galacticos transfer policy at the Bernabeu and signing Chelsea’s Eden Hazard is only the beginning.

It was thought that Tottenham playmaker Christian Eriksen would be the next superstar to set up camp in Madrid but it seems that manager Zinedine Zidane prefers Man Utd’s Paul Pogba.

Eriksen, has just 12 months left on his contract at Tottenham and he has already publicly intimated that he is looking for a new challenge away from North London and so everything was set up for the Dane to wind his way on down to Spain but obviously no one remembered to ask Zidane who he actually wanted.

It appears that it was Perez that wanted Eriksen but has had to step back once Zidane demanded that the club sign United’s midfield maestro.

United want at least €150 Million for the Frenchman and even Real have baulked at that sort of figure, however, that does not mean that a compromise cannot be met, especially if Pogba starts agitating for a move.

The days of Real Madrid getting what they wanted every time they made a move for a player are over with, clubs like United can withstand their largesse but a lot will depend on how Pogba reacts and that could easily be the deciding factor.

For now, Tottenham fans can rest easy until this one has played itself out.
