The latest transfer rumours include a claim that Juventus are interested in signing superstar striker Mo Salah, but former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy cannot see the Egyptian hitman leaving Anfield any time soon.
It is not beyond the imagination that Juventus would want Salah but as Liverpool have proven in the past, if they do not want to sell they will not and if the player ends up forcing their hand then Juve would have to page a huge amount, just look at the Phillipe Coutinho sale to Barcelona for evidence of this.
But Murphy does not believe it will get that far
“I don’t see Salah being remotely tempted to leave Liverpool and the Premier League. I’ve seen reports that Juventus are interested, but that’s not going to happen” he told Sportingbet.
“The Premier League is far more competitive and stimulating than Serie A and Liverpool are more capable of winning the Champions League than Juventus.
“Salah is a player who will always now be linked with Europe’s biggest teams, but he is happy at Liverpool and the fans love him. He’s playing the best football of his career at Liverpool.
“I don’t think it would ever be a Coutinho style situation, where he always wanted to play for Barcelona and forced through a move.”
Liverpool are not a small club and neither are they a selling club, if they win the title, just a season after playing in the Champions League final then they can confidently say that they are on the same level as Juventus in terms of prestige, they are certainly a richer club and Murphy is right, Salah would not be tempted by the Italian giants, why would he be? What can they offer him that is more than what Liverpool can offer?
