Manchester United are a club in transition and it is common knowledge that they are desperate for high-quality new signings and this means that whichever club they are wanting to do business with is going to demand sky-high transfer fees and that is what is happening with Leicester City who are demanding a whopping £80 Million for Harry Maguire, according to ESPN.
But that valuation has not put the Red Devils off much to the surprise of Leicester with United’s board prepared to back manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with a huge transfer kitty.
The Foxes do not have to sell and would have prefered to hold onto their England international and had thought that the huge fee would have put United off, it now appears they were wrong in that assumption.
Maguire is a good defender that has a nose for goal from set pieces, he is experienced at the highest level with Premier League experience and players of his calibre do not often come along and that is why United are so keen.
They do face stiff competition from their local rivals Man City, who are also reported to be keen on signing the 26-year-old and so it is not a given that United will land their man but it is likely that Maguire will depart the King Power Stadium this summer.
