Liverpool transfer gossip and news round up – Wednesday 10th Oct

According to Mundo Deportivo, Real Madrid was looking at hiring Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp as a replacement for Zinedine Zidane before the Wolrd Cup last summer. In the end they decided to go with Spain manager Julen-Lopetegui with devastating consequences.

Mundo Deportivo is also claiming that Barcelona has added Liverpool defender Alberto Moreno, 26, to their list of left-backs they want to sign as a back-up to Jordi Alba.

Not everyone thinks that Liverpool centre-back Virgil van Dijk is playing outstanding football, according to the Mirror, his international boss Ronald Koeman believes that he has to improve and that on occasions he is a little too laid back. It is very possible that Koeman is attempting to motivate the Dutchman, however, considering his performances for the Reds this season it does seem a strange comment to make.

Talksport is reporting that Liverpool has joined Man Utd and Chelsea in wanting to sign Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey in a cut-price deal in the January transfer window. Ramsey’s contract expires next summer and that has a whole host of clubs on full alert.
