According to the British media, Liverpool are ready to cut their losses with Naby Keita and will allow the player to depart Anfield in the summer.
It now appears that manager Jurgen Klopp has lost faith in the 24-year-old and despite paying £52 Million for the midfielder last year will accept an offer in the region of £40 Million.
According to the reports, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are preparing offers for the Guinea international and talks have apparently opened up between the player’s representatives and the German giants.
There was high hope for Keita when he arrived at Liverpool he was viewed as one of the most exciting midfielders in Europe but it simply has not worked out, he has fallen behind the likes of James Milner, Fabinho and Giorginio Wijnaldum and has failed to find the back of the net in 27 games.
Keita is clearly a top talent but the physicalness of the English game appears to have got the better of him, he lacks the intensity that Klopp demands and found himself falling down the pecking order as the season progressed.
It is a shame it has come to this but it is probably in the best interests of all parties.
