Liverpool in the frame for sensational move for Philippe Coutinho

Liverpool are one of a number of clubs interested in bringing Barcelona star Philippe Coutinho back to the Premier League

In what would be a sensational return, Liverpool is believed to be interested in signing their former playmaker, Philippe Coutinho.

PSG, Chelsea and Man Utd are also said to be contenders for the 26-year-old signature. It has become common knowledge that Barca are prepared to listen to offers for the Brazilian.

According to French media outlet Le 10 Sport, Coutinho representatives have already met with PSG officials. However, to date, nothing has come from those talks.

Coutinho has basically flopped at the Nou Camp and the same report claims he would welcome a move away.

Liverpool sold the forward for a whopping £142million and it is unlikely that Barca will recoup anywhere near that.

A fee in the region £98million fee has been mentioned, while his wages would be just under £11 million a year.

Chelsea is out of the running really due to their transfer ban unless they get it overturned.

Man Utd has the money but it is questionable that Coutinho would sign for them.

That really only leaves Liverpool and Paris St Germain as realistic destinations. Barca would be loathed to sell Coutinho back to Liverpool at a reduced fee but if the French Champions drop out, what choice have they got?
