Liverpool are reported to be preparing a £50 Million offer for RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner and have a clear road ahead of them following the news that Bayern Munich have dropped out of the running.
The German champions were considered front runners for the German international but they have turned their attention towards Manchester City star Leroy Sane leaving Liverpool as clear favourites to sign the 23-year-old.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is said to be an admirer of Werner who has been in hot form for the last few seasons for Leipzig.
Werner only has 12 months left on his contract and that is why £50 Million will be enough to force Leipzig to sell but the Reds still see that valuation as steep and will be coming in with a lower bid.
Liverpool has a history with Leipzig, they bought Naby Keita from them for a cool £60 Million and are confident that they will be able to negotiate a more reasonable transfer fee.
The Reds will not be taken advantage of and the ball is firmly in the Bundesliga sides court, they either agree to a fair price with Liverpool or risk seeing one of their biggest assets walk for free next summer and if there is one club that can play the waiting game it is Liverpool.
