Liverpool was very close to completing the acquisition of Lyon midfielder Nabil Fekir last summer but the deal collapsed at the last minute due to concerns over the player’s condition following knee surgery and now rumours have surfaced that the Reds will once again attempt to sign the France international.
According to multiple news outlets Liverpool is said to have tabled a contract offer for the 25-year-old.
Gazzetta dello Sport’s journalist Nicolas Schira has been on twitter giving an update on the situation.
“Jurgen Klopp has reignited his interest in Nabil Fekir and he would buy him from Olympique Lyon,” Schira tweeted.
“Aulas wants at least €50m for his player.
“Liverpool have offered Fekir a contract until 2024 at €4m at year.”
It has further been claimed by the Lyon-based newspaper Le Progres that the friendly between Lyon and Liverpool at the end of July could be used as an incentive for the French giants with Liverpool agreeing to the Ligue 1 side taking the vast majority of the match day revenue.
It does seem this one could happen if these reports are true, we are talking two media outlets in two countries basically claiming the same thing.
