Arsenal has been linked with a move for Lorient ace Alexis Claude-Maurice for some time now, however, their constant dithering has allowed other clubs to come in and the latest news is that Borussia Monchengladbach have opened up talks with the young striker.
Claude-Maurice is viewed as a very exciting prospect and it was hoped at Arsenal that he would follow his good friend Matteo Guendouzi to the Emirates but two bids tabled below what his club valued him at has caused delays that could end up being costly for the Gunners.
The youngster shot to prominence after scoring 14 goals and four assists last season in Ligue 2.
Arsenal are still expected to come in with another bid but by then it could be too late, if Claude-Maurice is in discussions with the Bundesliga outfit then personal arrangements could be sorted out in no time at all and then it will come down to whatever bid Monchengladbach table and you have to think they are fully aware that Arsenal have already had two bids rejected.
It is one thing having a low budget and trying to negotiate low transfer fees but it is another thing altogether to lose potential signings to other clubs because you were just too slow.
