Manchester United have been left bitterly disappointed after news that Ander Herrera is set to agree on a pre-contract agreement with PSG, according to reports in the media.
Herrera becomes a free agent in June and the Red Devils had hoped that he would sign an extension with them, especially now they have confirmed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the permanent manager, but nope, he is leaving for Paris to sign with the French Champions.
United have been in negotiations with the player’s representatives but the bottom line is that they failed to offer Herrera the sort of contract he was seeking
It has been reported that United was offering a wage of £100k per week, however, the 29-year-old wanted literally double that and the difference between the Spaniard and United could not be closed.
That said, the Spanish midfielder has apparently agreed on a £170k per week deal with PSG, so he was obviously prepared to accept a lower wage.
Herrera joined United in 2014 for £36 Million from Athletic Bilbao, who were also thought to be a possible destination but it is France he heading.
