Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus has addressed rumours that he is about to leave the Etihad this summer and also had a say on the future of Sergio Aguero.
Following Brazils opening game win in the Copa America over Bolivia, Jesus, when asked about his future, said.
“I think it’s out of the question that Aguero leaves and me too,”
“[Sergio Aguero] is a legend at the club – he’s the top scorer [of all time].
“Obviously as a player I always want to play, but I’m happy to help and I respect Sergio.”
It goes to show the level that City are at when players of the calibre of Jesus and Aguero are being linked with moves away and it does not ruffle any feathers. These are two top class players that would fit in easily with most top teams and neither is guaranteed a starting berth next season.
Pep Guardiola will be making some changes, he cannot help himself and despite what Jesus has said do not dismiss the possibility that either player could be offloaded in the summer.
That said, Guardiola will want to maintain a strong squad as City will be fighting on four fronts next season and having the two South Americans in that squad without either being assured of a starting spot will send out a frightening message to their opponents.
