The fans favourite to take over from Maurizio Sarri as the new Chelsea manager is Frank Lampard but for that to happen the Blues will have to fork out £4 Million in compensation to Derby County, according to the media.
Sarri is almost certain to be named Juventus manager any time now and all Chelsea supporters are waiting for the club to announce his replacement and the overwhelming wish is for it to be the former club legend.
Lampard was phenomenally successful at Samford Bridge, in the 13 years he was with the club he picked up 11 major winners medals
Lampard won 11 major honours in his 13 years as a player at Stamford Bridge, he played for them no less than 648 times and is their all-time record goalscorer with 211 goals.
The hierarchy at Chelsea will have no issue paying the compensation but there are reservations about Lampard’s experience, especially at such a crucial time for the club, they have just lost Eden Hazard and are facing a two-window transfer ban and the feeling in some quarters is that a more experienced person is required to navigate the next year.
Lampard may be the huge fan favourite but there is no guarantee that the Blues will go for their former player at this time.
