All the signs are there that Frank Lampard is almost certain to be named the next Chelsea boss and according to some reports he is already arranging the team he wants to put in place to support him at Stamford Bridge.
It is being claimed that Lampard wants his former teammate Didier Drogba to join him at Chelsea once he takes over from Maurizio Sarri as manager.
Sarri is leaving West London and returning to Italy to take up the managers position with Serie A champions Juventus following a successful year at Chelsea that saw them crowned Europa League champions, finish third in the Premier League and runners up in the Carabao cup just losing out to Man City on penalties.
Chelsea will receive £7 Million in compensation from Juve and the Blues will use £4million of that to compensate Derby County for the loss of Lampard.
Whether Drogba will join Lampard at Chelsea is not yet known, Lampard has offered him the role of striker coach with Jody Morris following Lampard from Derby as assistant manager.
Former Manchester City, Newcastle and Aston Villa goalkeeper Shay Given, is also expected to follow from Derby as well and join Lampard in the Chelsea dugout.
One man that may not be a part of the backroom staff is Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola, who is unlikely to remain once Sarri departs.
