Chinese club Shenhua FC offers Chelsea £17.8million for Willian with a mega salary and bonuses thrown in
Willian has just 12 months remaining on his contract and has been in negotiations with Chelsea over an extension. However, the Blues will only offer an extra 12 months while the playmaker wants two years.
This has caused a standoff and put the Europa League champions in a difficult position. Basically, they must sell, give in to the players demands or watch him leave for free next year.
The signs are that they will reluctantly listen to offers for the 30-yearo-old, according to TeamTalk
Barcelona was touted as a possible destination but it is the Chinese club that has tabled the only concrete offer.
Shenua has offered Willian a three year contract worth £12 Million per year with an £800,000 bonus if they win the Chinese Super League, a rented flat and two chauffer driven cars.
However, the report does claim that Willian has no interest in a move to Asia and would prefer to negotiate a deal with Chelsea.
There has to be a solution here, Chelsea will not allow him to walk on a free and will not extend to two years. So, Willian will have to accept a one-year extension or find a new club.
