It is being reported in the media that Juventus are keen on signing Chelsea defender Emerson Palmieri but there is no way that the Europa League champions should even consider selling the Italian international.
Chelsea are set to lose Eden Hazard and that will weaken them and with the prospect of a two-window transfer ban imminent, they simply cannot afford to see any more of their quality players leave.
If Maurizio Sarri does end up taking the Juve job then no doubt it will be harder for the Blues to hang on to their man but even if the player agitates for a move Chelsea must stand strong, at least until the transfer ban has been resolved or served.
Emerson is not world class but he is still a very good defender that is getting better all the time, he is just 24-years-old and his peak years are ahead of him, it would be foolish from the west Londoners to allow him to leave at this point in time.
Of course, no club wants to keep a player that wants to leave but there is no indication that is the case, not yet anyway.
If the situation becomes untenable and Chelsea are forced to sell the least they could do is demand a huge fee and make the Italian Champions pay through the nose otherwise Chelsea will only be harming themselves in both the short term and long term.
