It looks almost certain that Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic will not be making his loan move permanent at Stamford Bridge and will be returning to Spain in the summer.
It has not worked out for the Croatia international since his arrival from Real Madrid and it is now being reported that Sevilla is set to make an offer to the fallen European Champions.
One issue that Chelsea have to consider, however, is that they may not be able to buy any new players this summer due to the transfer ban imposed by FIFA, but Kovacic is an exception because he signed for the Blues, albeit on a loan, prior to the sanction and they would be able to make the move permanent if they so desired.
For his part, Kovacic is said to be keen on remaining in London and is still hopeful that he has a future in West London.
As things stand right now, it is unlikely that Kovacic will remain in London and his most likely destination, one way or another, is going to be back to Spain.
