Chelsea is prepared to go all out for West Ham centre half Issa Diop this month.
The 22 years old Frenchman has been one of the most consistent members of the struggling Hammers’ squad this season but he may not be at the club for long, not if Chelsea gets their way.
The Daily Express is claiming that Chelsea has made signing him their number one priority in this transfer window.
Frank Lampard’s side is currently in the top four but their defence has struggled recently and this has seen the previously untouchable Fikayo Tomori dropped to the bench.
It has become apparent to Lampard that he will need a more imposing defender to help shield his defence and he considers Diop a good option.
Diop joined the Hammers for £22 million in the summer of 2018 and he would probably leave for around double that fee.
David Moyes, who has just inherited the struggling Hammers, is keen to keep hold of his best assets. The last thing he will want is to lose one of his top stars when they face a relegation battle.
Lampard hasn’t been very vocal about his plans for this transfer window. But he knows that strengthening his team would only make securing a top finish easier.
It is unclear if West Ham would be prepared to let one of their best players leave this month. However, every player has his price.
