Chelsea has been linked with a summer move for Inter Milan’s Mauro Icardi as they look for competition for Tammy Abraham.
The Blues couldn’t make any signings last summer because they had a transfer ban placed on them, however, they still didn’t sign anyone last month after the transfer ban was lifted.
They eventually signed Hakim Ziyech on a pre-contract deal that would begin next summer, but more players are expected to join Frank Lampard’s side.
The Blues have been linked with a number of players over the cause of this season, but FourFourTwo is claiming that the Blues want to sign Mauro Icardi.
Icardi has spent this season on-loan at PSG following a turbulent campaign at Inter Milan the last time out.
The former Sampdoria man is one of the best attackers in the world but he has a lot of off-field issues that accompany him wherever he goes.
He has been one of PSG’s main goal threats this season and the French outfit want to sign him up permanently.
However, Chelsea is prepared to rival the French champions and Inter would be happy as more suitors mean they would get more money from his eventual buyer.
Chelsea has relied on Olivier Giroud in recent games as Tammy Abraham struggles with injuries, however, the Frenchman is expected to leave Stamford Bridge at the end of this season.
