Chelsea are in a bit of a pickle at the moment, they have lost Eden Hazard to Real Madrid and they face a two-window transfer ban and that is forcing them to act creatively to strengthen their squad.
One of those ways is to make permanent signings of players that they have had on loan last season and that includes Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic.
The Blues had hoped to turn the loan signing into a permanent one, something they are allowed to do despite the transfer ban, however, Inter Milan, managed by former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte are looking to sign the Croatian, according to the latest reports.
This is a problem for Chelsea because their options are very narrow right now and a lot will depend on the player himself, he is not wanted back at Real and if he decides he wants to remain in West London then that will give them the advantage over the Serie A outfit.
Kovacic had a stellar season with Chelsea and with Champions league to look forward to he may yet become a Blue on a permanent basis but Inter will not go down without a fight.
This one is going to be interesting.
