Chelsea and Man City have been put on red alert following Lyon president Jean Michel Aulas admission that he will be selling at least one player linked with the Premier League duo.
Three Lyon players are currently being linked with Chelsea and City, they are Nabil Fekir who has been linked with the Blues and Houssem Aouar and Tanguy Ndombele, who are being linked with a move to the Etihad.
Speaking about the rumours Aulas said:
“We will let one player leave from those who are solicited.
“I do not know who because there are many. We made a big effort to convince Nabil to stay when it was almost certain that he could leave (for Liverpool).
“Easier to let (Memphis) Depay leave than Aouar? Yes. Houssem is scheduled to start against the champion team of Europe (Barcelona) and will be in Lyon in the years to come.”
Because Chelsea have not been allowed to continue buying players while they appeal their FIFA transfer ban it looks more likely that it will be Man City that ends up landing one of their targets as opposed to Chelsea, though Chelsea are determined to have the latest FIFA ruling overturned and they are not quite out of the picture just yet.
Also, Liverpool may still re-enter the race to sign Fekir, even if the word is that Jurgen Klopp interest has waned slightly, that may change once if it is confirmed that the player is up for grabs.
