Liverpool has been handed a major boost in their bid to sign RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner after the German insisted that he would fit in well at the Anfield outfit.
The Reds have been linked with Werner as he continues to plunder in goals after goals for the German title challengers.
He scored a goal in the Champions League against Spurs last week and another league goal at the weekend to take his tally to 25 goals for the season.
Liverpool has an indomitable front three of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino, however, the Reds are looking to dominate in England for years and they won’t want to pass up the chance to sign the second top scorer in Germany.
Werner was asked about the persistent links between him and the Reds and he reserved nothing as he praised Jurgen Klopp for his work at Anfield and insisted that he would thrive should he join the European champions and Premier League champions-elect.
“Many things suggest that I would maybe fit in [at Liverpool] very well with my playing style. But I don’t think about that at the moment because we have so much to do with Leipzig.
‘I won’t rule out anything. We have the European Championship in the summer, I want to focus on that tournament.
‘About everything else I will think after the season.’
