Barcelona ready to hijack Arsenal plans once Man Utd deal completed

Barcelona set to make a move for Arsenal target if Manchester United move ahead with their transfer plans.

Barcelona is prepared to make a move for Arsenal target Dayot Upamecano should Samuel Umtiti join Manchester United.

Umtiti has emerged as a transfer target for United as the Red Devils look at signings to strengthen their defence.

Ole Gunnar Solkjear has identified Umtiti as the perfect defender for his system and a deal is in the works.

Express Sports claims that Barcelona are willing to let Manchester United have their man, but they would replace him with Dayot Upamecano.

Upamecano has been on Arsenal’s radar for some time now and Mikel Arteta is reportedly keen on getting him this month.

The need for his defensive abilities at the Emirates has never been made even more urgent. Mainly because of the long term injury to Calum Chambers.

Chambers has been ruled out for nine-month while Kieran Tierney is also out for the next two months.

RB Leipzig is reportedly ready to let him leave. If any of his suitors table a bid in the region of £45 million then a deal can be done.

Upamecano’s tall build makes him a dominant defender as his commanding presence at the back might just be what David Luiz needs to bring out the best in him.
