Arsenal have reportedly identified the perfect candidate for their problem centre back position, according to the latest reports in the media.
Apparently the Arsenal boss Unai Emery is very keen on signing Espanyol defender Mario Hermoso and is on the verge of making an official bid for the 23-year-old.
The Gunners have previously been linked with Hermoso but the speculation died down, however, Radio Marca journalist Alex Perez, has been on Twitter claiming that Arsenal are definitely interested in the player
He tweeted: “Mario Hermoso’s name sounds strong in London. The Arsenal is one of the teams interested in the center”.
There is one possible issue though, Real Madrid, Hermoso’s former club have a buyback option which they may well trigger so they can quickly flip him for a profit and that could end up pricing Arsenal out of contention.
However, there does not appear to be any sign of Real doing that and in the event, they decline to take up the option to buy back their former player then the road will be clear for Emery to sign a player that he believes will assist him in tightening up Arsenal’s back line.
