Arsenal continue to be the subject of much discussion among TV pundits, normally former players, and generally speaking, it has been negative and the latest comments from Sky Sports pundit and former Manchester United defender Gary Neville are no different, albeit with a splash of praise sprinkled here and there.
Neville is of the opinion that the Gunners will need at least four or five transfer windows before they can be considered genuine title contenders once again.
“Arsenal have a top coach in Unai Emery and are improving. They are still a little bit ‘old Arsenal’ but you can see the difference now,” he told the Daily Mail.
“Having said that, Emery needs four or five transfer windows to get things right.

Neville also commented on the imminent departures of Mesut Ozil and Aaron Ramsey, saying
“It does not surprise me that Mesut Ozil and Aaron Ramsey are on the way out. Emery wants players that can transform the club so he has to be able to ship players out, to be able to correct things.
“It is like a cultural shift, a big mentality shift. But he needs to do that and needs time.
“He is a massively talented coach, spoken of so highly in Spain.
“Valencia had 15 managers in 13 years but he was there for four years. They still talk about how good he was. He is a top coach and Arsenal have to support him.”
As usual, Neville does make some good points but it should also be noted that Arsenal are real contenders for the top four this season, they have shown their quality against both Chelsea and Tottenham and it does take a little time for new signings like Bernd Leno, Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi to bed in and make an impact.
If anything, it is consistency that Arsenal lack and there is every chance they will get that sooner than four or five transfer windows,
