The chickens are finally coming home to roost for Arsenal, a reduced transfer budget is forcing them to look in the bargain basement for players to strengthen their squad and they are desperately trying to drive the price down on players that they are keen on signing and that includes PSG’s Thomas Meunier.
The French Champions want £27 Million for the defender with bonuses on top and the harsh reality is that the Gunners simply cannot afford such an outlay on a single player at this time.
To make matters worse they are having to compete with Manchester United for who £27 Million is pocket change.
Unai Emery is desperate to persuade his former club to lower their demand but it is difficult to see them doing that, it is not as if they will not be able to sell the 27-year-old for their asking price, which in this day and age not expensive.
Arsenal probably do not have any players that PSG would be interested in within that price bracket and so no swap deals are available and unless PSG all of a sudden act charitable it is unlikely that Arsenal will be signing the Belgium international for anything less than what the French outfit are demanding.
