Real Madrid manager Santiago Solari attempts at dismissing a rift between himself and midfield maestro Isco has done nothing to dampen down the rampant speculation that the Spanish international is on his way out of the Bernabeu.
Isco has not started a game under Solari, which has fueled the speculation of a rift with between the manager and player and that speculation was further increased following Isco’s omission from the matchday squad for Tuesday’s 2-0 win over Roma in the Champions League.
Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal, AC Milan and weirdly Barcelona, have all been linked with a move for the 26-year-old and Solari, speaking ahead of the La Liga clash with Valencia, said nothing that would put possible suitors off, in fact, his refusal to deny that Isco would be on his way out of the European Champions has just added to the rumours flying around.
“Honestly, I think there’s not really anything to talk about here,” Solari said.
“I spoke the other day. These are things that happen, they are decisions that have to be made. That’s it.
“I can’t be speculating all the time here with you guys.
“There are 24 professionals, they are all working hard and we have to take decisions. There’s nothing more to say.”
Solari added: “I do whatever I consider is best for every single player. Every single one is important. We are all Real Madrid.”
Now, normally a manager would offer up some sort of denial or reassurance and it is very telling that he did neither.
Could Isco leave Real Madrid in January? Yes, he really could.
